Lilli Carati plays Teresa, a working class girl who is transformed from rags to riches to a wealthy high class widow courtesy of the death of her newly married rich husband, a professor named Ulderico Quario (Enrico Maria Salerno), reminiscent of the classic English movie "My Fair Lady" (Audrey Hepburn). Renzo Montagnani plays Pasquale the lonely widowed father of Teresa, a delivery man who finds comfort in a retired prostitute Cecchina (Marisa Belli) who comes to stay with him. Professor Quario has been obsessed with Teresa the first time he laid his eyes on her sitting at the back of a delivering van with her legs wide open. The professor goes out of his way to hire Teresa to be his domestic maid. He then proceeds to train her in the ways becoming of a high class lady ... how to eat, dance, talk, dress and how to seduce a man in bed. Cecchina and Teresa hatches a plan to trap the professor with the intention of inheriting his wealth. With her new found skill in seducing a man, Teresa manages to manipulate the professor into marrying her. Teresa then proceeds to wear down the old man making love to him until he gets a heart attack. When the professor finally dies, Teresa inherits the bulk of his fortune making her a rich widow.
